Garlic mashed turnips

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Add chopped turnips in to a large pot and fill with water. Cover with lid and bring to a boil. Boil until very soft, about 30 minutes. Drain in colander emptying pot of water. Let turnips sit for about 5 minutes to steam out, then transfer back to pot.
- 2
Mash turnips in the pot. Add all other ingredients, and stir over medium-low heat for a few minutes, until mixed well. If mixture seems thin, increase the heat so that mixture starts to bubble. Stir constantly for a few minutes until it thickens up like mashed potatoes.
- 3
Cool for 5 minutes, season with S&P and serve.
- 4
You can add sliced scallions, grated cheese, crispy bacon to this dish if you like.
- 5
You can use an immersion blender to get a super silky texture.
