Bún Thịt Nướng (Air Fryer Grilled Pork with Vermicelli)

This dish is incredibly tasty—my child loves it! It's even better when grilled over charcoal, but using an air fryer is super quick and convenient. It only takes about 15 minutes. I use the Instant Vortex Plus 6-in-1 air fryer.

Slice the pork into medium-thin pieces. Marinate with minced garlic, shallots, and the seasonings listed above. Adjust the seasoning to your taste, as I usually estimate the amounts. The longer you marinate the pork, the better—it’s great to marinate overnight.

Soak skewers in water for 30 minutes, then thread the pork onto the skewers. Make sure to spread the meat evenly and avoid packing too much onto each skewer.

Arrange the pork in the air fryer. Preheat the air fryer to 340°F (170°C), then add the pork. Cook at 340°F (170°C) for 10 minutes until the pork is cooked through. Then switch to the Grill setting for 3–4 minutes, or until the pork is golden and slightly charred to your liking. Brush with extra marinade for a nice color. Once cooked, sprinkle with crushed peanuts for extra flavor. Serve with vermicelli noodles, fresh herbs, and fish sauce.

This is super delicious and convenient. Depending on your air fryer, you may need to adjust the temperature and time. On my air fryer, the Grill setting is set to 400°F (205°C) by default; for other models, set it to 400°F (200°C).

To make the fish sauce: Mix 2 tablespoons fish sauce, 2 tablespoons sugar, 4 tablespoons water, and 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice. Adjust to taste and add minced garlic and chili.
