Ingredients

  • 1 medium bowl full of tamarind liquid
  • 2red chillies
  • 1 table spoonghee
  • 1 tea spoonmustard seeds (Rai)
  • 1 tea spooncumin seeds(jeera)
  • Half teaspoon of Fenugreek seeds(methi seeds)
  • 1 tablespoonrasam powder
  • 1 tablespoonroasted and powdered cumin and Fenugreek powder
  • Half teaspoon of turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 1 fourth teaspoon of asefetoda(hing)
  • Few finely chopped curry and coriander leaves
  • As Per TasteSalt
  • A small piece of jaggery (gud)
  • As RequiredGreen chillies (optional)

  1. 1

    In a bowl take tamarind liquid. Add salt, roasted jeera and methi powder, rasam powder, haldi, curry and coriander leaves. Add jaggery to it. Mix it well.

  2. 2

    In a small pan heat ghee. Then add Rai, jeera, red chilies, and hing. Let it splatter.

  3. 3

    Add the above seasoning to the spicy tamarind liquid.

  4. 4

    Your raw tamarind rasam is ready to be served. No need of cooking.
