Easy flaky Butter Pie crust dough (for apple pie, banana pie, chicken pie)

It’s my first experiment of making pie from scratch. My nephew brought an apple pie ice-cream last week. He is crazy about apple pie. So that ice-cream gave me an idea to make it at home. I started to hunt a recipe of Ape pie but in every recipe pie crust was a mart bought. I want to make my own crust at home. Finally, I got a flaky butter pie crust recipe from Pinterest. I made it and use it for Apple pie recipe too. It is too simple and easy to make at home that you will never buy a pre-made pie crust from mart. You just need 4 ingredients but it should be cold: butter and ice cold water for mixing.

Take unsalted butter and dice it. Put it in bowl and place it in freezer to make it cold and nice chunk

Take flour and sift it.

Add salt and mix it with spoon.

Put the mixture of flour and salt into mixer. Dump the chilled butter on top.

Pulse the mixture until it turns into coarse texture. With the lid of the mixture, start pouring a tablespoon of cold water through the feed tube and pulse a few times.

Pulse it until the dough starts clumping together and pulling away from the sides of the dough. Just pay an attention to your dough and stop before it gets wet.

Once it reached to the perfect consistency, dump the dough on board or counter. Start kneading it by hand. Roll it and make one big disk. Cut into half.

And roll it again by hand and give a disk shape again. Take a cling sheet or plastic. Place it under and put it in fridge. The dough can be used after an hour and it can be stored upto 4 days.

Once the dough nice and chilled, take it out and put in counter for 10-15 mins. Dust your work space, roll the dough and use it for pie.
