Ingredients

Prep 10 min, Cook 40 min
2-3 servings
  • 10 oz (283 g)Pork loin -Remove surface fat
  • 1Medium Onion
  • 1Medium Bell pepper -Any colour
  • 3 cups (220 g)Coleslaw mix or Shredded Cabbage
  • 1 cup (210 g)Uncooked rice -Medium or Brown
  • 3 cups (750 ml)Soup stock or no salt added broth -Any kind
  • 1/2 tbsp (7.5 ml)Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbspGarlic powder or Granulated garlic
  • 1/2 tspItalian herb mix (dry)
  • 1/4 tspGround black pepper
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml)Olive oil

Steps

Prep 10 min, Cook 40 min
  1. 1

    Chop Onion and Bell pepper.

    Measure Coleslaw mix, wash and drain. Or shred cabbage for the same amount.

    Remove surface fat* from Pork loin, then Cut it into strips. *Discard the fat.

    Heat a large pot to Med-High temperature and add Olive oil.

    Fry Pork loin strips until surface turns white, then add vegetables and cook until onion becomes slightly transparent.

    Add Soup stock, Worcestershire sauce, Garlic powder, Italian herb mix and Ground pepper.

    Add rice and combine thoroughly. Bring to boil.

    Reduce heat at Med-Low temperature. Cover with lid and cook 25-30 min until rice tender.
