First wash and soak all the dal for 6 hours or overnight.

Poha and tamarind is to be soaked for 10 mins before grinding.

Drain the dal add green chilli, salt, ginger, hing, and tamarind to a mixy jar.

Then add the soaked and drained poha and grind to fine paste.

Next add half a cup barley powder along with little water to the ground mixture and blend well. Transfer to a vessle add chopped onions and curry leaves and salt for the onions.Mix well. Rest for 5 mins.

Now grease a appe pan with ghee do not over load it just grease it and add one teaspoon of mixture to it and cook on slow flame on both side by covering it. Serve hot with sauce.
