Ingredients

  • 1-2stuffed crabs
    Ubhi's Stuffed Punjabi crabs🦀🍅🧂🧅🧄🌿
  • 1 tbspghee + 4-5 tbsp sunflower oil or 1 tbsp coconut oil 🥥 use instead of ghee
  • 3bay leaves 🍂
  • 1 tspcumin seeds
  • 1star anise
  • 4cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tspblack pepper corns
  • 1 tspfennel seeds
  • 1 cupchopped onions 🧅
  • 1 cupchopped tomatoes 🍅
  • 11/2 tbspginger garlic paste 🧄
  • 2 tbspgreen chillies paste
  • Salt to taste 🧂
  • 1/2red capsicum chopped
  • 1/2yellow capsicum chopped
  • 1/2green capsicum chopped 🫑
  • 2 tbsptomato paste 🍅 (ready made)
  • 1 tsppaprika powder/ kashmiri chilli powder 🌶️
  • 1 tspcoriander cumin powder
  • 1/4 tspgaram masala
  • 2 tbspplain yogurt
  • 1/8 tsptandoori food colour
  • 2-3 tbspfinely chopped Coriander leaves 🌿
  • 2 cupsbasmati rice 🍚
  • 4 cupswater 💦

Steps

    Heat ghee with sunflower oil or coconut oil with sunflower oil 🌻, add whole spices (cumin seeds, bay leaves 🍂, black peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, star anise and fennel seeds) cook till 1 min, add chopped onions 🧅 cook till lightly brown, add Ginger garlic paste 🧄🫚, stir for 1min, add chopped tomatoes 🍅 and mix well

    Add salt 🧂 cook till tomatoes 🍅 are soft, add spices, green chillies paste, paprika powder/ kashmiri chilli powder 🌶️, coriander cumin powder and mix well, cook till oil comes out, add tomato paste 🍅, 1 tbsp finely chopped Coriander leaves 🌿 and mix well, add plain yogurt cook for 3 mins, then add tandoori food colour and mix well

    Add 1/2 cup water 💦 for gravy, let it boil for 5 mins, add stuffed crabs🦀 in gently and let it boil, don't use spoon 🥄, just gently shake it, cook for 5-6 mins, remove stuffed crabs out 🦀(if you don't remove crabs 🦀 out at right time, they will break, by over cooking them), add basmati rice 🍚 and mix well, add water 💦, garam masala powder and mix well, let it boil

    When rice is cooked, very little water 💦 is left, add red, yellow and green capsicum 🫑 in and mix, add again stuffed crabs 🦀 in, cover and cook till done, serve hot, garnish with finely chopped Coriander leaves 🌿
