Ingredients

  1. 1/2onion, finely chopped
  2. 7 ozground pork (200g)
  3. 2 tablespoonspotato starch (or cornstarch)
  4. 15–20 shumai wrappers, thinly sliced
  5. 1 tablespoonsake
  6. 1 1/2 tablespoonssoy sauce
  7. 1-1 1/2 tablespoonssugar
  8. 1 teaspoonoyster sauce
  9. 1 tablespoonsesame oil

Cooking Instructions

    Toss the finely chopped onion with the potato starch (or cornstarch).

    In a bowl, mix the ground pork, all the ● seasonings, and the onion mixture until sticky and well combined.

    Shape the mixture into a disk in a skillet, then top with the thinly sliced shumai wrappers. Turn on the heat.

    When the meat starts to brown, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup water (50–100 ml), cover, and steam-fry.

    When the water has evaporated, it’s ready to serve.
