Beef Yaki Udon

I had a little cabbage left, so I added it in.
How this recipe came about:
My child wanted to eat yakisoba, but we didn’t have yakisoba noodles at home, so I tried making it with Inaniwa udon noodles that we had on hand.

Steps
- 1
Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces. Thinly slice the onion, roughly chop the cabbage, and slice the green onion.
- 2
Heat a frying pan and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Sauté the beef and onion with salt and pepper.
- 3
When the beef is almost cooked through, add the cabbage and continue to stir-fry.
- 4
Add the udon noodles, mentsuyu, and sugar. Stir-fry, loosening the noodles as you go.
- 5
Season with soy sauce, salt, and pepper to taste. Add the green onion and quickly toss everything together.
- 6
Serve on a plate and generously top with bonito flakes.
