Ingredients

15 minutes
  • 1 cupmillet flour(bajra flour)
  • 1/2 cupsorghum flour(jowar flour)
  • 1/2 cupchopped fenugreek leaves (methi)
  • 1/2 cupchopped spinach
  • 1/2 cupchopped coriander
  • 2spring onions, chopped along with the leaves/ dried onions(depends on season)
  • 2 tablespoonschopped green or dried garlic (optional)
  • 1 teaspooncrushed ginger and chili
  • 3tbspoons of curd
  • 1 tspajwain seeds
  • 1 teaspoonsesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoonturmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoonpepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 pinchasafoetida
  • 1 tablespoonsoil for moin
  • 1/4 teaspoonbaking soda
  • 1.1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 cupGhee/oil for frying(as required)
  • 1 tablespoonssesame seeds

    First of all, wash, dry and chop all the green leafy vegetables, spring onions, green garlic. Now sift both the flours, add all the ingredients as mentioned above and prepare a slightly thick batter by adding water to it.

    Now add the baking soda and mix it. Heat nonstick tawa on medium flame. Now apply ghee and spread some sesame seeds on it. Reduce the flam and spread the batter on the sesame seeds in the pan with a spoon. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on up side too.

    Now cover it with a lid and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. Then apply ghee on the edges, turn it over and press it a little. And cover it and cook in the same way. In this way, fry both sides with ghee or oil.

    Jowar bajra flour chamchamiya is ready. It can be served with curd and pickle or with tea.
