Today is Divaso(Hariyali Amavasya)when we keep vrat (fasting-eating only fruits and milk) and do jagaran(stay awake whole night) . I prepared this kheer for my Vrat.
Steps

Grate doodhi. In a thick bottomed vessel, take 1/2 tsp ghee and saute the grated doodhi for 3-4 minutes. Boil the milk and keep ready. Add the boiled milk into the sauted doodhi.

Stir and cook for 5 minutes. Don't make it very thick. Add in saffron soaked in some milk.

Now add in sugar and cook for 2 more minutes. Add in half of the chopped badam-pista.

Offer to Mataji and serve as prashad.
