Ingredients

  1. 6fish fillets, your choice, except basa
  2. Juice of 1 orange
  3. 1/3 blockachiote paste
  4. 1 clovegarlic
  5. 2.2 pounds(about 1 kilogram) tortillas
  6. 1onion, chopped
  7. 1 cupcilantro, cleaned and finely chopped
  8. Juice of 2 limes
  9. 3additional limes for serving with the tacos
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Salsas to taste: green, red, árbol, chipotle, guajillo
  12. 1 cuplettuce, cleaned and finely chopped
  13. as neededVegetable oil

  1. 1

    Clean the fillets and cut them into strips about 2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide. Add lime juice and salt, and let marinate for at least one hour in the refrigerator.

    Blend the achiote, orange juice, and garlic very well in a blender.

  3. 3

    Remove the fillets, drain them, add lime juice to the blended mixture, and blend again. Coat the fillets and refrigerate again.

  4. 4

    In a non-stick pan, add a couple of tablespoons of oil and fry the drained fish. Once fried, place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

  5. 5

    Serve with tortillas, lettuce, cilantro, onion, and your favorite salsa.
