Ingredients

  • Beef stew meat
  • [Marinade]
  • 2 tbspsteak powder
  • 1.5 tspsalt
  • 1 tspblack or white pepper
  • 1 tbspsoy sauce
  • 1 tbspoyster sauce
  • 1 tsppaprika
  • 1 tbspsriracha sauce (optional)
  • 1 tspWorcestershire sauce
  • 1 dashdried herbs
  • [Cook]
  • 1big onion
  • 3 clovesgarlic
  • 1 1/2 cupbeef or chicken broth
  • 3dried bay leaves
  • 2carrots
  • 2-3celery sticks
  • 1.5 tspWorcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbspsoy sauce
  • 1.5 tspsalt
  • 1.5 tspoyster sauce
  • 1 tspsugar
  • 2 tbspBBQ sauce
  • 1 tbspcorn flour + water (slurry)

Steps

  1. 1

    Marinade stew beef meat for 20 minutes or overnight

  2. 2

    Heat 1 tbsp oil in pan and brown beef stew meat

  3. 3

    Place meat at the bottom of the pot of slow cooker; add chopped onion, garlic, bay leaves, carrots, celery and a portion of stock and cook for approximately 10 to 15 minutes in a normal pot/slow cooker on max

  4. 4

    Halfway through, add remainder of stock or water and flavor accordingly with salt, sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, BBQ sauce, oyster sauce

  5. 5

    20 minutes before serving, add in slurry, turn up heat until the stew has thickened

  6. 6

    Serve with rice or pasta
