Ingredients

  1. 1small chopped onion
  2. 3medium carrots peeled and diced small
  3. 4 clovesgarlic
  4. 1 1/2 lbsground extra lean ground beef
  5. Salt and Pepper
  6. 2 tbspall purpose flour
  7. 2 tbsptomato paste
  8. 1 cupbeef broth
  9. 1 tspWorcestershire sauce
  10. 2 tspfresh chopped rosemary
  11. 1 tspfresh chopped thyme
  12. 1/2 cupsweet corn
  13. 1/2 cupfrozen peas
  14. 3 stalkschopped celery
  15. Garlic Mashed potatoes
  16. 1 tspOlive Oil

Steps

    Preheat Oven to 400 degrees

    Heat olive oil in cast iron frying pan

  3. 3

    Add onions, celery, and carrots to the frying pan and cook till fork tender this will take about 5 to 7 min.

  4. 4

    Add ground beef and cook until browned.

  5. 5

    Add the garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper. Cook for another 1 min until herbs become fragrant. Set aside in small bowl.

    Combine tomato paste, flour, and Worcestershire sauce to pan and cook for 2 min until mixed.

  7. 7

    Add ground beef mixture and beef broth to the base in the pan. Stir to combine and cook till gravy thickens

  8. 8

    Pour into large oven safe dish and cover with mashed potatoes. for a crunchy golden brown layer on top of the potatoes brush with fresh butter.

  9. 9

    Bake in 400 degree oven for 20 min or just until the potatoes begin to brown and let sit for 15 min prior to serving.
