  1. 500 gramsminced meat
  2. 375 mlMilk
  3. 1 sliceBread
  4. 1 largeonion
  5. 1 tspCrushed garlic
  6. 1/2 tspgrated ginger root
  7. 1/2 tspCoriander
  8. 1/2 tspCrushed cumin
  9. 2 tspCurry powder
  10. 1/2 tspturmeric
  11. 1Olive oil
  12. 2eggs
  13. 1/2lemon's juice
  14. 1/2 tspSalt
  15. 1/3 cupPitted raisins
  16. 1/3 cupslivered almonds
  17. 1/3 cupChutney
  18. 3Bay leaves
  19. 1/2 tspground pepper

Steps

  1. 1

    soak bread in 1/2 the Milk Mixture. Squeeze out and retain exess milk. Crumble bread and mix into mince with curry + turmeric.

  2. 2

    Saute onion, garlic and ginger in butler / oil then add crushed Coriander and Cumin.

  3. 3

    Braise Meat until color changes. Remove from heat then add Fried onion, one egg, lemon juice salt and remaining milk. Also add Sultanas, almonds and chutney.

  4. 4

    Pour mix into greased oven dish.

  5. 5

    Beat 1 egg and remaining milk together and Pour over meat mixture.

  6. 6

    Press bay leaves of lemon leaves into bobotie and Sprinkle ground cumin over.

  7. 7

    Bake at 180 ° C For 45 min until golden brown.

  8. 8

    Serve with Yellow rice or Cooked Vegs.
