Ingredients

  1. 3 cupflour
  2. 1/4 cupbutter (soft)
  3. 1 tspsalt
  4. 1 1/2 cupmilk
  5. 1 tspsugar
  6. 2 lbground beef
  7. 1 mediumonion
  8. 2 tspkosher sal
  9. 1 tsppepper
  10. 1 tbspgarlic powder
  11. 2 cupflour for dough
  12. 1 quartoil for frying

    mix first 5ingrediants with electric stand mixer with dough hook. our by hand until it is soft dough stage.

    let dough rest for twenty minutes on floured surface.

  3. 3

    while dough rests mix next 5 ingredients.

  4. 4

    roll out about 4 oz of dough (golf ball size) until round and thin. fill one side with flattened meat patty and fold dough over like a calzone. seal edges well!

  5. 5

    fry in hot oil (about 325 degrees) until golden brown. repeat until ingredients are all used up. you can get extra dough if desired.

My ND mom would add a couple tablespoons of sour cream to the meat mixture. This is the best dough recipe I’ve found, been making fleischkuechle for many years and tried many recipes.
