Small Banana Halwa

Happy mothers' day. In Mangalore and Kerala people are making Narendra banana halwa. It is so dark in colour and good in taste. My mother usually making this when we get in our farm. Here me used small or yelakki over ripe bananas. To prepare this halwa we have to stir continuously almost 1 hour. Banana, sugar and ghee are the three main ingredients here.

Steps

Peel, slice and grind fine paste.

Pour ground banana paste in to heavy bottomed pan and stir continuously in low flame.

When paste changes it's raw colour or starts thickening add sugar and keep stirring.

When the paste starts thickening add ghee little by little.

Add cardamom powder, Salt a pinch and stir continuously in low -medium flame.

Halwa absorbs ghee and texture changes little glossy.

At one stage it starts leave ghee, but you have to continue stirring still some more minutes to get good clour.

When you satisfy the colour, chewness and good aroma transfer into ghee greased plate.

Use the flat spatula to level the surface.

It leaves excess ghee, you can use it for some other dishes.

After complete cool cut in to small pieces and serve.
