Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cupBasmati Rice (Soaked for 30 min.)
  2. 1medium size potato cubes
  3. 1carrot
  4. 1/2 cuppeas
  5. 1medium size onion
  6. 1/4 cupgreen Capsicum
  7. 1 tbspGreen chilli, ginger and garlic paste
  8. Coriander Leaves for garnish
  9. fewmint leaves
  10. 1 tspbiryani masala
  11. 2 cupswater (as required)
  12. 2 tspoil or butter
  13. Fried Cashew and badam for garnish (optional)
  14. Dry Spices
  15. 1Bay leaf
  16. 4-5Green Cardamom
  17. 1star anise
  18. stickCinnamon
  19. 4-5Cloves
  20. 1/2jeera
  21. 4-5Black pepper
  22. 1dry red chilli

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak rice for at least 30 min. Drain the water and set aside.

  2. 2

    Chop all veggies and mint.

  3. 3

    Making veg biryani

  4. 4

    Add oil to a pressure cooker and heat it

  5. 5

    Add spices and fry till you get a nice aroma for one to 2 min.

    Fry onion until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Add Ginger, Garlic and Green Chilli paste and cook for 1 to 2 min.

    Add all chopped veggies and fry for 2 to 3 min.

    Add mint leaves and biryani masala powder.

  10. 10

    Measure pure water and add salt to taste

  11. 11

    When the water begins to boil, add drain rice and mix it well.

  12. 12

    Close the lid and let the cooker whistle once on a low flame.

  13. 13

    When the pressure goes down, open the lid and fluff up.

  14. 14

    Ready for serve.

  15. 15

    Garnish with coriander, fry badam and cashew.
