Ingredients

  • 2 tbspghee
  • 1 tspcumin seeds
  • 1bay leaf
  • 1/2 tspblack pepper
  • 1 inchcinnamon stick
  • 5cloves
  • 1onion fined chopped
  • 1green chilli slit
  • 1/4 tspturmeric
  • 1 tspginger - garlic paste
  • 1 cupmethi leaves / fenugreek leaves
  • 1/2 tspkashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 cupbasmati rice soaked 30 minutes
  • 1/4 cuppeas
  • 2tomato fined chopped
  • 2 1/2 cupswater
  • to tastesalt

Steps

  1. 1

    Basmati rice soaked 30 minutes in water.

  2. 2

    In a kadai add ghee and also spices and saute till they turn aromatic.

  3. 3

    After that add in onions and saute well.

  4. 4

    Now add chilli and ginger - garlic paste amid tomato saute well after that saute methi leaves till they shrink in size.
    Then add turmeric and chilli powder.

  5. 5

    Add in 1 cup basmati rice, saute for a minute without breaking rice grains.
    now add peas, water and salt to taste.

  6. 6

    Stir well and cover and cook till rice gets cooked well completely.

  7. 7

    Finally, serve methi pulao with raita of your choice.
