Cooking Instructions
- 1
Fry your ground pork in a large pan. I use my large Electric Skillet.
- 2
Before it is done I might add a tablespoon of Lard for flavor.
- 3
Then I add a little flour to it to help dry up the grease or lard a bit while cooking.
- 4
Next, add the red chili powder to it at the same time. The red chili powder sticks a bit to the pork, but thats ok.
- 5
Then open all of the roughly 4 to 4 1/2 oz cans of green chilis and jalapeño peppers. Dump them in one by one mixing well as you go.
- 6
Using 2 cans of diced jalapeños is optional depending on how hot you want to go. I use just one at this stage in my life. Save all of the empty cans and fill each with water adding the water to the green chili and mixing well while cooking. At this stage bring the green chili mixture to a light boil for a few minutes to infuse the heat into it. Next let cool while you prepare the Potato Burrito Recipe that it goes with. It is called Ricks Potato Burrito Recipe.
- 7
If you used 2 cans of Jalapenos, and you are not used to the heat, one word, Ice cream!!!!!!

New Mexico Style Green Chile New Mexico Style Green Chile
Born and raised around chile. We used to roast out own but now we have the farms do it. I usually throw in 3 bulbs of garlic per bushel when roasting. Then when I peel it I throw in a clove or two into the bag and freeze it. 2 bushels usually last all year in my house. This is a staple at every holiday and throughout the year. Maryjo Montoya -

Photographed are Diced tomatoes, but I typically used crushed. Diced can be too much tomato in one bite, if not stewed long enough. The best part of stew though, you can use what you have! Lauren Vigil
