Kibbeh in Yogurt Sauce
A delicious, warming winter dish made by my mom.
Steps
- 1
Mix the yogurt sauce ingredients together, then strain and place over medium heat. Stir constantly until it comes to a boil.
- 2
For the filling, sauté the onions in a pan and sprinkle with salt. Add the ground meat and cook, stirring, until browned.
- 3
Add the spices and pistachios, then remove from heat.
- 4
Shape the kibbeh into small discs, fill each with some of the filling, then either bake in the oven or deep-fry in hot oil until golden.
- 5
When serving, combine the kibbeh with the yogurt sauce and garnish with the mint topping and nuts as desired.
