Ingredients

  1. 1 lbHot Italian Sausage (ground)
  2. 6 SlicesBacon
  3. 1Medium Onion (chopped)
  4. 4 ClovesGarlic (crushed)
  5. 1 lbRadishes (sliced)
  6. 1 BunchGreen Kale (torn into bite-sized pieces)
  7. 4 Cans(or approx. 60 oz) Chicken Broth
  8. 1 CanCrushed Tomatoes (with liquid)
  9. 1 CupHeavy Whipping Cream
  10. 2 TbspButter
  11. Salt
  12. Pepper
  13. Red Pepper Flakes

Steps

  1. 1

    Cook bacon, chop and set aside. Reserve grease.

  2. 2

    Combine bacon grease and butter a large stockpot. Bring to medium heat and add garlic and onion. Saute until soft (5 min).

  3. 3

    Add sausage, mix well. Stir occasionally until browned.

  4. 4

    Add chicken broth, bacon, tomatoes, and radishes. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer until radishes are soft (20 min).

  5. 5

    Remove from heat. Add Kale and Cream, stir until well mixed.

  6. 6

    Add salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.
