Pan-fried Garlic Chilli Broccoli

Dishwasher’s drainpipe was chewed by mice and leaking for a long time unnoticed. That’s why I have been cooking in the bathroom using a portable induction hob. The kitchen floor is not yet repaired and I miss my oven so much. If I’ve had an access to my oven, I wouldn’t have cooked this dish, however, I have found that this frying-pan method is easier and quicker than oven-roasting.

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 1 head(*about 300g) Broccoli *cut into small florets, thick stem sliced
  2. 1 tablespoonOlive Oil
  3. 2 clovesGarlic *crushed
  4. 1/2Chilli *sliced, OR Dry Chilli Flakes as required
  5. 2 pinchesSalt
  6. 2-3 tablespoonsWater
  7. Black Pepper
  8. Grated Parmesan

Cooking Instructions

    Heat Olive Oil in a frying pan over medium heat, add Broccoli, Garlic, Chilli, Salt and Water, cover with a lid and steam-cook for a few minutes.

    When the Water is evaporated, remove the lid and stir-fry until slightly browned.

    Sprinkle with some Black Pepper and grated Parmesan, and serve.
