Ingredients

  1. For yakhni
  2. 1 kgchicken
  3. 5 glasswater
  4. 6garlic cloves
  5. 1onion
  6. 1 pieceginger
  7. as per taste salt
  8. 4-5whole red chilli
  9. 1 tbscoriander
  10. 1 tspcumin
  11. 1 tbssonf
  12. 2 stickscinnamon
  13. 3black cardamom
  14. 8-10cloves
  15. 15-20black pepper corns
  16. 1bay leaf
  17. For rice
  18. 1 kgrice (I used 3 glass)
  19. 20-25small green chillies
  20. 2 tbsginger garlic crushed
  21. 3medium onions sliced
  22. 1 tspcumin seeds
  23. 1 tspwhole spice powder
  24. as per taste salt
  25. 1/2 cupyoghurt
  26. 2bay leaves
  27. 2tomatoes sliced
  28. 4'1/2 glass chicken stock
  29. 4green chillies
  30. 1 cupoil

Cooking Instructions

    Take a deep pan and add chicken and water to it

  2. 2

    Now add all yakhni ingredients in chicken and let it cook on a low flame for 25 to 30 minutes

    Soak the rice for 1 hour

  4. 4

    Now put of the flame and strain the stock with a strainer and keep aside the chicken pieces and black pepper corns and red chillies

    In a blender jar add green chillies and yoghurt blend well and keep aside

  6. 6

    I dont like ginger garlic paste so I crushed ginger garlic in mortar and pestle you can blend it

    Now heat up a deep pan/wok and add oil onions cumin bay leaves and fry

  8. 8

    Preserve some fried onions for later use

    Now add crushed ginger garlic and fry for 2 minutes

  10. 10

    Now add sliced tomatoes green chillies and yoghurt mixture and chicken and fry

  11. 11

    Add salt and whole spice powder

  12. 12

    As oil seperates add preapared chicken stock and whole green chillies and let it boil

  13. 13

    Now add soaked rice give a stir and cover it to cook for 7-8 minutes

  14. 14

    As the stock dries out add some fried onions and let it simmer for 10 minutes

  15. 15

    Dish it out and serve with your favourite raita.
