Butter murukku is very famous savoury item of south India. Where it is basically made up of rice flour. It's also prepared with mixed flour, whole wheat flour or maida.

Ingredients

45 minutes
45-50 pieces
  1. 300 gmrice flour
  2. 100 gmall-purpose flour
  3. 100 gmbutter
  4. 100-150 gmcheese
  5. to tasteSalt
  6. 250 gmspinach leaves
  7. 1 teaspooncarom seeds
  8. 1 tablespoonsesame seeds
  9. 2 tablespoonred chilli powder
  10. Pinchhing/ asafoetida
  11. as neededOil to fry

Cooking Instructions

    Blanche the spinach. Strain excess water. And totally without water crush spinach to make spinach puree.

    Sieve both flours together. Add salt, butter, carom seeds, sesame seeds, asefotedia, chilli powder, shredded cheese and spinach puree to the flour. Mix smoothly all together. Try to form a dough without adding water. Use spinach puree to form a dough.

    Fill chakli maker machine with the dough. In a plate form medium sized chakris. Heat oil in deep pan. With flat spoon pick one by one chakri and fry on medium to low flame till lightly brown and crispy.

    Make chakris by the same method from all dough. After cooling down completely store in an airtight container. Can use within 10-15 days.
