Ingredients

Soak time 6-7 hrs.Cooking time-30mins

  1. 1 cupKidney beans
  2. 2tomatoes
  3. 3-4green chillies
  4. 1 pcginger
  5. 2bay leaf
  6. 1 inch cinnamon stick
  7. 2-3cloves
  8. 1dry red chilli
  9. to tastesalt
  10. 1 tspred chilli powder
  11. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  12. 1 pinchasafoetida
  13. 1 tspdhania ( corinader)powder
  14. 1/2 tspblack salt
  15. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  16. 1 tspSabzi masala
  17. 1 tspcumin seeds
  18. 1 tbspghee
  19. 1 tbspchopped coriander leaves
  20. For Rice
  21. 2 cupRice
  22. 1 tbspghee
  23. 1 tspcumin seeds
  24. 1/4 tsp salt
  25. as neededwater

Cooking Instructions

Soak time 6-7 hrs.Cooking time-30mins

    First Soak kidney beans overnight or 6 hrs.

    Put soaked Kidney beans/Rajma in a pressure cooker.add bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves, dry red chilli & 1/2tsp salt & sufficient water to cook.cook till 4 whistles on medium flame.

    Make tomato puree with tomatoes, chillies & ginger.

    Heat ghee in a kadhai. add cumin seeds & asafoetida to it. then add haldi, red chilli powder & dhania powder to it.immediately add little water and cook.

    Then add tomato puree & rest of the spices to it..add little water & cook for 5-7mins.

    Add boiled rajma, little water & cook for 2-3boils. add coriander leaves & switch off the flame.

    For Rice. wash two times properly then in a vessel add rice, water, salt, ghee & cumin seeds.cook & drain the extra water.Rice ready.
