Easy Meat Stew

Stew is the easiest to prepare. It's a dish with both meat and your favourite #veggies in one pot. You can choose to use water, wine, both or your preferred broth/stock. If you dont have broth/stock, adding #chicken seasoning powder or chicken bouillon gives your stew the taste of of that missing #broth/ #stock. Red #wine is definitely a good addition to your #stew.
Red wine can be omitted and substituted with your preferred broth or stock. You can also use Non-alcoholic or Zero Alcohol wine. See pic.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare and measure all ingredients. Dice/cube meat, potato and carrot into small chunks. If possible, leave cut and washed meat in a colander to remove any access liquid. Meat chunks should be dry and not wet. It helps when it comes to browning the meat later.
- 2
A - Season meat with salt and pepper. In a non-stick pan, brown meat with 2 tbsp of oil. Use any oil or even butter. We prefer oil. Cook over high heat. Once nicely browned, transfer everything to a stock or soup pot.
- 3
B. Using the same non-stick pan, add another 2 tbsp of oil. Caramelized brown onion until aromatic and translucent. Turn of the heat and transfer this to the stock or soup pot (the one with the meat).
- 4
C - Place pot on the stove. Start with medium heat, add tomato paste, sugar, Worcestershire sauce and chicken seasoning powder or chicken bouillon. Mix well.
- 5
Add water (or broth/stock if using) and wine to the pot. Both Alcoholic wine and Non Alcoholic wine can be used. See pic below for Non-alcoholic wine. Stir your stew. Cook over medium heat and bring to a boil.
- 6
D - Add diced/cubed potato and carrot. Stir well.
- 7
E - Next, add corn flour mixture to thicken the stew. Simmer over medium heat until potato is fork tender, and your stew should be ready. Taste and adjust seasonings accordingly, if needed. For extra heat, add pinches of black/white pepper powder. Serve warm with toasted garlic bread.

Note: Feel free to add herbs of your choice (I.e bay leaves or any dried herbs)

Mike's Old Time Beef Stew Mike's Old Time Beef Stew
You can pan sear your meat before you cook it in your broth. However, it's not necessary to building any additional flavor or tenderizing the meat in this dish. She'll simmer far too long to worry about any of that.If you do chose to pan sear, allow your roast to sit out on the counter for 40 + minutes to relax and warm a bit. Then, season with sea salt / pepper and sear on high - on all sides - in oil in a cast iron skillet or comparison. MMOBRIEN -

Easy Beef Stew for Two Easy Beef Stew for Two
Or maybe more. This is a great basic preparation that can be played with ingredient-wise but there are some vital ingredients. Potato carrots and celery are traditional. Avoid pre cut "stew meats" as they are usually too lean. Find a chuck shoulder that is nicely marbled with ribbons of fat. Get a nice dark caramelized color on the meat for richer flavor. Take care to use a high quality broth. Many would suggest replacing one cup with red wine.Cutting potatoes in varied sizes with allow the smaller pieces to naturally thicken the broth as well.Served with cornbread or a warm yeast roll and you will be in comfort food heaven jessicadpaxton -

Super Easy! Rich Tomato Cream Stew Super Easy! Rich Tomato Cream Stew
I love pasta with tomato cream sauce, and wanted to make a similar tasting stew. The color becomes richer as you keep simmering the stew so don't worry. Stir fry well in Step 4, and mix well at Step 6. Chicken stock cubes are larger than regular consomme cubes. Use 3 cubes if you are using consomme cubes. Use any vegetables you like. Lotus roots, pumpkin, and mushrooms are good. Recipe by Harunbouya cookpad.japan -

Chinese Cabbage Stew Chinese Cabbage Stew
My main objective is to just use up a lot of Chinese cabbage. It's good because it's flavored with the stew roux that everyone loves! When heating leftovers the next day, it depends on how much is left, but try adding more chopped Chinese cabbage. If half the stew is left over, 2 to 3 leaves should be enough.Even if you add onions you won't really notice they're in there, so you might as well not bother. So much Chinese cabbage can be added that you might be surprised, but it all blends in very well. Add the cores first, then the green leaf tips last. You can even use up wilted, sad-looking Chinese cabbage. Recipe by Shijimi24 cookpad.japan
