Cooking Instructions

Rinse the toor dal 2to 3times in water. Then add into the pressure cooker along with turmeric powder and water. Close the lid and cook for 6-7 whistle or till dal are cooked soft.

When the dal is cooking, soak tamarind in water.cut all the vegetables set aside.

When the dal is softened well, mash dal. Then add all the vegetables and salt and water mix it well. Then pressure cook it for 1 whistle medium flame.once the vegetables are cooked well.Then add tamarind pulp to the sambar and add more water and stir it well.

Heat coconut oil in a pan add mustard seeds when the crackle and add onion add dry chilli, and it appears until golden brown then add curry leaf cook for few second finally add chilli powder,sambar powder, coriander powder, asafoetida mix well.pour the dal over the tadka mix it well and cook it 5 minutes on low flame.

Serve mix vegetable sambar steamed rice. enjoy.
