A simple and easy chaat recipe made with black chickpeas and other chaat ingredients. the recipe is ideal for all age groups and is quite often served as salad recipe during fasting and vrat season. moreover, it is an ideal snack for all the occasion, particularly as an evening snack with a cup of tea or coffee.

Ingredients

  1. for pressure cooking:
  2. 1 cupkala chana / black chickpea, soaked overnight
  3. 3/4 tspsalt
  4. 3 cupwater
  5. other ingredients:
  6. 2 tspoil
  7. 1chilli, slit
  8. 1/4 tspturmeric
  9. 1/2 tspkashmiri red chilli powder
  10. 1/4 tspgaram masala
  11. 1/2 tspdry mango powder
  12. 1/2 tspchaat masala
  13. 1/4 tspcumin powder
  14. 1/2salt
  15. 1 tbspgreen chutney
  16. 1 tbsptamarind chutney
  17. 2 tbspcurd (optional)
  18. 1/2 tbsponion finely chopped
  19. 1potato boiled &cubed
  20. 2 tbspcoriander leaves
  21. 2 tbspmints finely chopped

Cooking Instructions

    Firstly, in a pressure cooker take 1 cup soaked kala chana. make sure to soak 1 cup black chickpea overnight.
    add ¾ tsp salt and 3 cup water.
    pressure cook for 8 whistels or until chana is cooked well.
    drain off the water and keep aside.
    in a kadai heat 2 tsp oil and saute 1 chilli till it turns aromatic.
    add in cooked chana and continue to saute for 2 minutes.

    Keeping the flame on low and add ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp garam masala, ¼ tsp aamchur, ½ tsp chaat masala, ¼ tsp cumin powder and 1/2 tsp salt
    Saute on low flame until spices turn aromatic..

    Further mash off couple of Chana to have good texture. Transfer the spiced Kala chana to a bowl. add 1 tbsp green chutney,1 tbsp tamarind chutney and 2 tbsp tomato 1 potato 2 tbsp coriander leaves and mint. Mix well making sure everything is combined well. Plate the black chickpea over the plate.

    Top with 1 green chilli and lemon slices,green chutney also add onion, tomato and coriander leaves

    Finally Kala chana chaat or black chickpea chaat masala is Ready to serve 😋..
