Ingredients

  1. 3 CupsAll Purpose Flour
  2. 1 CupMilk
  3. 1/2 CupRaisins
  4. 1/4 TeaspoonSalt
  5. 1 1/2 TablespoonsButter/Margarine
  6. 1Egg
  7. Red and Green Food Coloring
  8. 2 TablespoonsVanilla Essence
  9. 1/4 CupSugar
  10. 1 1/4 TeaspoonIstant Yeast

Cooking Instructions

    Mix flour, yeast, salt, and sugar in a bowl. In a separate bowl mix melted butter and eggs. Pour the butter and egg mixture into the flour mixture. Add 3/4 cup milk into the flour mixture, start kneading. Add in the remaining milk to the dough. The dough will be sticky so that the colour holds well. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Divide half the dough into two so that you have 3 pieces. Take the large piece of dough and add the red food coloring and raisins. Knead until soft

    Take the 1/4 dough, add green food coloring. Knead until soft but firm. Add more flourifnecessary

    The final 1/4 dough leave it plain and knead it until soft but firm

    Cover all the bowls with cling film and place in a warm place until doubled in size, around 1 hour. After one hour take the RED dough and form it into a log shape, size of your loaf pan

    Take the WHITE dough and roll it out into the same length size as the red log but wide enough to cover the red log

    Place the RED dough on the WHITE rolled out dough

    Completely cover the RED dough with the WHITE dough and tuck the edges in well

    Roll out the GREEN dough the same length size as the WHITE log but wide enough to cover the white dough log completely

    Place the WHITE log onto the GREEN rolled out dough

    Completely cover the WHITE log with the GREEN dough and tuck in the edges

    Place the bread dough in a loaf pan, cover and place in a warm place for 45 minutes to rest. Bake in a preheated oven at 375 F for 35 minutes

    Remove bread from the oven and let it cool completely for 20 minutes. Do not be tempted to slice immediately out of the oven. Enjoy!!!!
