I honestly have no clue what's in a "real" burrito, I was just trying to make an upgraded version of the ones my husband loves from taco bell. call em whatever you want- they're delicious!

Ingredients

5 servings
  1. 1 1/2 lbground beef
  2. 2sweet italian sausage, casings removed
  3. 114.5 oz can diced tomatoes, undrained, or 2 cups plain tomato sauce
  4. 1/2 tspeach onion powder, pepper, garlic salt, & basil
  5. 1 tspeach oregano & sugar
  6. 1chili powder to taste
  7. 1/2 cupchopped raw onion
  8. 2 cupchicken broth
  9. 1 cupuncooked minute rice
  10. 1 1/2 cupextra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  11. 10 mediumor large soft tortillas
  12. 1shredded taco blend cheese to taste

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    In skillet, brown beef and sausage, breaking up with spatula as you go along. Drain grease, return to skillet

    Add tomatoes, herbs & spices, sugar, onion, broth and rice. Simmer covered, about 10 minutes, until rice is tender. Stir frequently

    Stir in cheddar cheese and mix well

  4. 4

    Warm tortillas per package instructions and fill with meat mixture

  5. 5

    Sprinkle with taco cheese and roll up. If desired, fry lightly on both sides in oil of your choice til golden brown. Enjoy!

im an italian mom from nj with 3 very fussy eaters...3 kids (ages 16, 20 & 24) :D very hard to find dishes they all agree on, and now my oldest became a vegetarian so even harder! lol. but love this app and all the great people! i love cooking for and spending time with my family. all things beauty, true crime books and shows,and I'm very interested in homeopathic and natural cures, and living a positive and grateful life... and im a diehard NY Ranger fan.oh, and i LOVE bacon! so thats me :-)
