I cooked garbanzo beans for the first time! I didn't know it made such a difference from the canned ones. I recommend you to cook them by yourself if you have enough time. I wanted to use them in soup because it's good too. Enjoy.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup (240 ml)garbanzo, cooked
  2. 1/4onion, chopped
  3. 2 cups (480 ml)water from boiled garbanzo beans
  4. 1bay leaf
  5. 1 tspherb of your choice, optional
  6. pinchsalt and pepper
  7. (for garnish)
  8. coriander, parsely or red pepper flakes

Cooking Instructions

    Place first 4 or 5 ingredients in a pot and cook over medium high heat. I used the water from garbanzo when I cooked them, but vegetable/chicken broth works well I bet.

    Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer 10 mins. Remove the bay leaf.

    Place the mixture in your blender or hand blender and mix until it becomes smooth.

    Bring it back to the pot and add salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle coriander and serve warm.
