Ingredients

  1. 1 cupAll-purpose flour/maida
  2. 1/4 cupurad daal /split black gram
  3. 1 pinchorganic yellow food colour (optional)
  4. 1/2 cupcurd
  5. 1/8 tspbaking soda
  6. As neededGhee or oil to fry jalebi
  7. For sugar syrup.
  8. 1/2 cupsugar
  9. 1/2 cupwater
  10. 2crushed cardamom

Cooking Instructions

    Soak daal for 2-3 hours. Then grind to make a smooth paste. Keep it aside.

    Now In a pan add sugar, water and cardamom. Cook till sugar dissolve and syrup becomes sticky.

    In a bowl add daal paste, maida, curd and organic food colour. Mix well add some water if required to make a smooth,lumps free batter. The consistency of batter should be pouring.

    Add baking soda and mix well.
    Transfer the batter into a piping bag or jalebi maker or you may also use milk bag.

    Heat ghee in a flat pan. Keep the flame on low-medium. Make jalebi and fry till golden brown and crispy from both sides.
    Remove it from ghee and immediately dip jalebi in luck warm sugar syrup. Keep it in syrup for few seconds and take it out.

    Serve hot. I enjoyed my jalebi with some crispy Fafda.
