Ingredients

  1. 50 gmsToor dal
  2. 2 medium sized radish/ mooli
  3. 1/2 cuptamarind juice
  4. 1.5 tspSambhar powder
  5. 1 pinchturmeric powder
  6. 1 tspoil
  7. 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  8. Few curry leaves
  9. 1/4 tsphing / asafoetida
  10. 1/4 cupGrated coconut
  11. As Per TasteSalt

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    In a pan add tamarind juice, 1/4 cup water, chopped reddish, Sambhar powder, and salt and boil on a medium flame for 15 minutes. Or until the raw smell of tamarind goes.

    Pressure cooker Toor dal by adding turmeric powder.

  3. 3

    Once the tamarind water boils well and reddish is cooked well Add grinded coconut paste. (Grind grated coconut and little water to a smooth paste)

    Add cooked Toor dal and boil for 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Temper should be done with mustard seeds and curry leaves. Add Asafoetida to the Sambhar while you temper.

    Mullangi Sambhar is ready to Serve.
