Ingredients

  1. 1.5 cupgreen moong split or whole moong soaked for at least 5-6 hours
  2. 1.5 cuprice
  3. As neededsalt
  4. 1/2teasp red chilli powder
  5. 1/4teasp turmeric powder
  6. 1crushed garlic clove
  7. 1/4teasp minced ginger
  8. 1green chilli chopped
  9. 1/4tomato chopped
  10. 1/4 cupaloo chopped
  11. 1/4 cuponion chopped
  12. 1/4teasp garam masala
  13. 2teasp ghee/oil
  14. 1/2teasp cumin seeds
  15. Tempering
  16. 1/4teasp cumin/mustard seeds
  17. 1teasp ghee
  18. 1-2dried whole red chilies
  19. 1 pinchhing
  20. 1/4teasp red chilli powder

Cooking Instructions

10-15 minutes
  1. 1

    First heat the ghee/oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds. As it crackles add grated ginger, crushed garlic cloves, saute.

    Add mixed and soaked dal and rice (for 10 minutes), water as needed, all the ingredients and spices.

    Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles on medium flame. Open when the steam is released.

    It's ready. Garnish with coriander leaves. Pour prepared tempering- refer link. Serve with salad/pickle/raita/papad.
