Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupfine semolina/rava /suji
  2. 1/2 cupall-purpose flour/maida
  3. 2 tsphot ghee /clarified butter
  4. 1/2 cupmilk
  5. For stuffing
  6. 1 tbspghee/ clarified butter
  7. 1 tsppoppy seeds
  8. 1 cupdecicated coconut/ fresh coconut
  9. 1/4 cupjaggery
  10. 1 tspgreen cardamom powder
  11. 1 tspnutmeg powder
  12. Oil / ghee for deep fry

Cooking Instructions

    For making dough -
    Take semolina/suji in mixing bowl add all-purpose flour and hot ghee mix all well together add milk slowly let it soak properly knead soft dough rest dough for 1/2 hour cover with wet cloth

    For making stuffing
    In a pan heat ghee add poppy seeds saute add decicated coconut add grated jaggery on low heat mix well continuously

    Now add green cardamom powder and nutmeg powder mix all well take care of jaggery could not melt just mixing all well together transfer to a bowl

    Shaping Modak
    Knead modak dough again for 2 min
    Make small balls roll each of them add stuffing 1 tbsp hold puris and start petals give final shape of modak take out extra top part

    Modak is ready
    Now make all modak same way.

    Frying Modak
    Heat up oil/ghee in pan let it hot fry modak inside hot ghee till golden in colour
