Small onion Sambhar

This sambhar is very common in our houses .My family likes it very much with idli or plain rice.
Cooking Instructions

Boil toor dal in pressure cooker.Keep it aside.

Clean and chop smail onion,tomatoes, drumsticks and coriander leaves.

Heat 3 tsp of oil in pan.Add mustards seeds and allow it to splutter.Then add jeea,menthi seeds.Add hing and turmeric powder to it.

Add small onion and fry little till they are soft and golden in colour. Then add chilli powder and chopped tomatoes, drumstick. Add little water and allow them to cook for 5 mins on slow flame.

Then add tamrind juice and mix well.Add sambhar powder and cooked toor dal and mix well.

Add some more water and allow it to boil.After 10 mins remove from flame and garnish with coriander leaves and curry leaves. Add ghee and mix well.

Serve hot with idli or plain rice.
