Gather all the ingredients.

Combine all the marinating ingredients in a medium bowl.

Marinate for 30 minutes.

Dredge the marinated beef until lightly coated.

Combine hot water and sugar into a heat-proof glass bowl.

Mix until the brown sugar is dissolved.

Add bouillon and soy sauce. Mix well. Set aside.

Combine water and corn starch in a small bowl. Set aside.

Oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.

Spread out the beef evenly in a pan.

Sear for 1 minute on each side, then transfer to a plate.

Repeat for the rest.

Add ginger, garlic and pepper. Cook until fragrant.

Add the sauce mix and bring it to a simmer. Cook 2 minutes.

Stir in the corn starch mixture. Cook until it's thickened

Add the beef and scallions, and toss until evenly combined.

Serve with rice!
コツ・ポイント
After marinating the beef, sear it for a tender result. Keep the amount of sugar lower than the regular Chinese recipe.
