Ingredients

Serves 3 to 4 servings
  1. 9-10 1/2 oz(250–300g) thinly sliced pork belly
  2. 1/2 headcabbage
  3. 1/2 teaspoongrated ginger
  4. Salt, to taste
  5. Sauce mixture
  6. 2/3 cup (150 ml)lukewarm water
  7. 1 tablespooneach soy sauce, sake, sugar, cornstarch
  8. 2 teaspoonsto 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon powder
  9. 1 teaspoonsesame oil
  10. 1 pinchpepper (a little extra is delicious)

Cooking Instructions

    Prepare the sauce mixture by mixing thoroughly. Cut the pork belly into bite-sized pieces and roughly chop the cabbage.

    In a frying pan, add vegetable oil and grated ginger. Sauté over low heat until fragrant, then add the pork belly and stir-fry over high heat until the color changes.

    Add the cabbage and a couple of pinches of salt, and stir-fry for about 3 more minutes. Add the well-mixed sauce mixture again and stir-fry for about 30 seconds to finish.

    Serve on a plate and garnish with coarsely ground black pepper or chopped green onions if desired.
