Cooking Instructions
- 1
Soak your beans in water for few minutes, use mortar and pestle to pound it (becareful when pounding not to crush the beans) to remove the skin. The bean is pound so as to make the skin to peel much easier. Wash the beans using a clean water and strain it, transfer it into a bowl and add chopped onions and scotch bonnet then take it for grinding or use a heavy duty blender and blender it until you get a smooth consistency.
- 2
Beat the batter very well until it becomes smooth and fluffy. The essence of beating the batter is to prevent the bean cake from draining oil inside and to make the cake to rise. Add the dry ingredients and beat again, the batter should be a bit thick.
- 3
Heat your oil in a pan and drop the beans cake into the oil using a spoon, flip the other side to fry until golden brown. Strain it in a strainer.
- 4
Serve with pap, custard or oat.

Adzuki & Sesame Seed Japanese Style Cake in the Rice Cooker Adzuki & Sesame Seed Japanese Style Cake in the Rice Cooker
This is the third cake I've tried in the food processor and rice cooker. I thought it would be nice to make a slightly Japanese-tasting cake this time. This recipe just relies on the food processor and rice cooker so it's very simple. You can also use normal canned adzuki beans. Cooking time and number of times you have to switch it back on will vary depending on rice cooker so please check on the cake yourself and decide when the rice cooker needs switching off. Sesame paste can separate so please mix it in thoroughly. Apart from that there are no other tricks, it's just a very easy cake. Recipe by Kaeha cookpad.japan -

It brings a little taste of his childhood to our holiday mornings and has become a tradition we now share as a family. Jillian Dudek -
