Ingredients

  1. 1 bowlHarad Dal
  2. Veggies
  3. 1/2 cupPumpkin
  4. 1/2 cupBrinjal
  5. 1/2 cupbanana Raw
  6. 1/4 cupCarrot
  7. 1/4 cupWhite raddish
  8. 1/4 cuppotato
  9. 1/4 cuparbi
  10. 1/4 cupbeans
  11. Dalma Masala :
  12. 2 tspsaunf / fennel seeds
  13. 3 tspcumin seeds
  14. 3 tspblack pepper
  15. 3 tspred chilli dried
  16. Spice Mix:
  17. 1 tspPaanch phoren (Fennel seeds, Cumin seeds, Mustard Seeds,
  18. 1 tspTurmeric powder
  19. To tasteSalt
  20. 2 tspghee
  21. As required coconut Shredded to garnish
  22. 1 tspsugar - optiona
  23. As required Coriander Chopped to garnish
  24. 3 cupswater

Cooking Instructions

    Soak dal for 4-5 hour.
    Wash the vegetables and cut all in medium dices of equal sizes.
    In water, add dal, vegetables,salt and turmeric in a pressure cooker and cook for 1 whistle.

    Meanwhile prepare the dalma masala. Take saunf, jeera, dalchini, kali mirch and dried red chilies.
    Dry roast the spices and let it cool for sometime. Later grind them all into a fine powder.

    Now in another pan prepare the tadka. Take Ghee and heat. Add panch-phoran and dried red-chilli and mix this tadka to the dal mixture.

    Let it cook for 8-10 minutes. If you prefer little sweet,you can add sugar or can skip it.
    Check the salt and adjust as per your taste. Once you get a medium consistency gravy, sprinkle the Dalma masala and switch off the flame.

    Mix it and cover with a lid and let it sit for 5 minute till the flavor infuse properly.
    Garnish with shredded coconut and chopped coriander leaves.
