Ingredients: 1 cup Tuar dal; 1 cup chopped cauliflower; 1/2 cup chopped carrot; 1/2 cup chopped brinjal; to taste Salt; 1 teaspoon red chilli powder; 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder; 1 tablespoon sambhar powder; 1 teaspoon mustard seeds; 2 chopped green chillies; 5-6 curry leaves; 1 pinch Asofoetida; 1 finely chopped onion; 1 finely chopped tomato; 1 tablespoon tamarind pulp; 7-8 garlic cloves; 2 tablespoon oil; 1 cup semolina; 1 cup curd; to taste Salt; 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Powder; 1 teaspoon eno salt; as needed Oil for greasing

FOR SAMBHAR
1 cupTuar dal

1 teaspoonmustard seeds
2chopped green chillies
5-6curry leaves
1 pinchAsofoetida
1finely chopped onion
1finely chopped tomato
1 tablespoontamarind pulp
7-8garlic cloves
2 tablespoonoil
FOR IDLI
1 cupsemolina
1 cupcurd
to tasteSalt
1/2 teaspoonBlack Pepper Powder
1 teaspooneno salt
as neededOil for greasing

Cooking Instructions

FOR SAMBHAR- Add washed toor dal, salt and pepper, turmeric powder, asafoetida, mix vegetables with four cups water in a pressure cooker.

Close the lid and cook for 4-5 whistles or until done.

Add oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, chopped garlic & curry leaves in it.

When they crackle add onion and soute them till they become transparent.

Add tomato & green chilli in it & soute for 5min.

Add salt and pepper, Sambhar powder & stir well.

Add boiled dal & tamarind pulp in it. Stir well and cook for five minutes.

Serve hot with rice, idli, dosa or vada.

FOR IDLI- Take semolina in a bowl.

Add curd, salt and pepper in it. Mix properly.

Add eno salt in it.

Boil water in a idli cooker.

Grease the idli stand.

Pour the mixture in idli stand.

Place the idli stand in idli cooker and cover it.

After 8-10 min. Switch off the flame and rest it for five minutes.

Put idli with the help of knife.

Serve hot with Sambhar.
