Ingredients

  1. 4 cupsflour
  2. 1 teaspoonactive dry yeast
  3. Pinchsalt
  4. 1 tablespoonsugar
  5. 1 dropvegetable oil
  6. 3 tablespoonsmilk powder
  7. For the taushe
  8. Cooked/steamed meat
  9. Vegetable oil
  10. 3 cupssteamed mixed tomatoes
  11. Fresh ugu leaves or spinach
  12. cubesSeasoning
  13. Salt,curry
  14. Fresh pumpkin
  15. 1large onion

Cooking Instructions

    In a bowl sift the flour,add the years,sugar, salt and milk powder,stir.gradually add cold water to form a dough. The dough should be a bit sticky. Mix for 7-10mins then cover and allow to rise for 45mins or thereabout.

    Heat oil in a large fry pan. Once hot,scoop the batter in your hands,make a small hole in the middle and quickly drop in the hot oil to fry. Fry both sides until golden brown.remove from heat and drain in a paper towel.

    For the soup,peel the back of the pumpkin,cut into cubes,rinse well and place in a pot. Dice the onion and add to the pot then add some water enough to cook the pumpkin. Once done,use a masher to mash the pumpkin well. Then add the already steamed mixed peppers, seasoning cubes,salt,curry,cooked meat and vegetable oil. Mix Welland cover to cook until oil is visible on the top. Lastly,add the spinach,stir and cook on low heat for 15mins. Serve this soup with the fried funkaso.
