Ingredients

  1. 1 cupfresh green peas
  2. 1/2 -3/4 cup paneer pieces
  3. For gravy :
  4. To grind to paste :
  5. 2 tspoil
  6. 1big onion finely chopped
  7. 2green chillies
  8. 1" ginger
  9. 6-8 clovesgarlic minced
  10. 2dry red chillies
  11. 1small cinnamon stick
  12. 2tomatoes chopped
  13. 1 tbspdhania jeera powder
  14. Other ingredients:
  15. 2 tbspoil
  16. 1 tspcummin seeds
  17. 2small bay leaves
  18. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  19. 1 tspred chilli powder
  20. to tasteSalt
  21. 1/2 tspsugar (to add during boiling green peas)
  22. leavesFinely chopped fresh coriander

Cooking Instructions

    Boil fresh green peas with sugar & salt till tender. Strain and keep aside.

    On another gas flame,In kadhai add heat 2 tsp oil. Add chopped onion,ginger, chillies, garlic saute for few minutes.

    Add chopped tomatoes,dry chillies, cinnamon stick, dhania jeera powder,mix and saute until tomato pieces are tender.

    Cool this sauted vegetables and grind it in mixer to make smooth paste.

    In same kadhai add & heat 2 tbsp oil, add cummin seeds and bay leaves. As cummin seeds splutter,add grinded Onion Tomato paste. Mix well and saute till oil leaves from the mixture.

    Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder salt. Mix well. Add boiled peas and cook for 2 minutes.

    Add paneer cubes (you can fry and add). Mix gently. Add 3/4- 1 cup of water. Simmer for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

    Serve /Relish Matar-Paneer with Roti/ Paratha/ Naan.
