Simple Salsa Sauce

cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp
This is my variation on a taco rice sauce my friend taught me.
-It's even more delicious if you let it sit overnight rather than eating it right away.
-If you don't like tomato skins, you can peel them first.
-For children, soak the onions in water and don't use the chili sauce. Recipe by Oshisu
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Finely chop the onions and peppers, chop the tomatoes, and put it all in a bowl.
- 2
Add the ketchup, honey, lemon juice, and chili sauce and mix together. (This time, I used 1 tablespoon of chili sauce)
- 3
Let chill in the refrigerator overnight to let the flavors sink in. It's delicious!

Salsa Verde (Tomatillo Sauce)
I recently came across tomatillos and I was surprised to find out that although they look just like green tomatoes, they aren't tomatoes at all!Salsa verde is a popular Mexican original, but adding a few personal touches can transform this popular sauce into a unique creation. Linguini with fresh Tomato Sauce (Makaronia Me Tomata Salsa)
This recipe has been sitting in my draft box for a while now, but for some reason I really never got around to making it. Today, it’s very cold and at the moment it’s snowing and I don’t want to make soup, so I decided on this delicious pasta dish which will work just fine. New Year Eve seems to getting closer, and I still haven’t planned out the New Year Eve Menu not really sure what it is I want to make 😦 but one thing I do know for sure is we will be making the classic Greek Cake Vasilopita.During the holidays we tend to make too much food and this means too many leftovers. This year there was wayyy to much leftovers than previous years, the reason as you all know was due to the fact of the passing of our dog Marka, no one really had a appetite for eating big…:( Life must go on and so it will as the New Year approaches.I hope you enjoy this delicious pasta dish not to many ingredients and very quick to make. 🙂

Easy Salsa
I love taco rice with salsa, so I made some at home.If you don't like green peppers, you can omit them. If you use only 1 teaspoon of Tabasco, kids can probably still eat it too.For kids, cut the vegetables very fine so that they can easily eat it. Recipe by Tamutarou

Quick Salsa
I suppose it would be easier to put the tomatoes, bell pepper, etc. to a food processor and pulse for a few seconds. But since I don't have one, I have to do it the old-fashioned way--slice and dice them manually! I call this quick salsa because I just slice and dice vegetables that I found in my fridge. If you only have tomatoes and onions, that would work, too.

Quick and Easy Salsa
This salsa is super quick and very cheap to make. I didn't want to drag out my blender, so I used my smoothie maker and it worked great. Don't keep it on to long or you will have Mexican flavored tomato sauce. My kids love this stuff! So if you're trying to save some money or don't want to go to the store, you can make this with stuff sitting in your cupboard. Enjoy!

Homemade Salsa
Some added tips. This makes on average a little over a pound of salsa. No more than 2.When picking your veggies and peppers make sure they have tight skin. An old, wrinkled, or damaged pepper will be hard to peel. You can remove or add peppers to you spice level.Use wet paper towel to help remove pepper skin that is stuck to your fingers.I use vine tomatoes. Or Roma. Most of the time it's "al tanteo" so follow your instincts when it comes to adding or removing something. You end up with more salsa though.

Salsa
I like to cook with things I already have in the kitchen, this recipe was a spur of the moment kinda thing.Substitute whatever type of peppers you want. This recipe has a good kick, but of course that's all relative.Less spicy: I recommend only using poblano peppers or peppers low on the Scoville scaleTip: if too spicy, simmer it and/or add any type of sugar or citrus (lemon, lime)

Fresh Homemade Salsa
Salsa sauce is necessary for tacos. People always ask me for the recipe whenever I bring it out to potluck parties. It's really delicious, but all you need to do is chop the ingredients and combine everything together. It goes well with sautéed whitefish and meats. The green tabasco (jalapeno sauce) is about only 1/5 the spiciness of the red variety. The vinegary tartness of the tabasco is very refreshing. You can use either the green or red kind as you'd like. I like to add in lots of the green tabasco and just a few drops of the red. The red chili peppers I used this time were pickled in vinegar, but you can also use fresh or dried chillis as well. Recipe by Mekamahao
