Bala-bala / Crispy Vegetable Fritters
This food is usually sold as street food together with fried tofu in batter, banana in batter and others. But buying sometimes can be concerning, so better make it my self.Bala-bala comes from the word "bala" which means "messy" or "dirty" in Sundanese (one of our local dialects, usually spoken in West Java) maybe because the shape of it is a lil bit messy so they call this that way.Anyway, have a try!

Gumbo
Gumbo is a French-style dish from the southern United States, particularly Louisiana, where many French settlers arrived. This led to the creation of Cajun cuisine, a blend of French and local flavors. Gumbo is a popular dish in Cajun-style restaurants, featuring a thick soup poured over rice, usually with seafood and chicken. Okra is a key ingredient that thickens the soup, giving it a rich texture. It's similar to a thick porridge but with a spicy, flavorful taste.

Salsa kid friendly
I have granddaughters and I just want them to enjoy the same foods as everyone else. Just because it is a certain type of food, doesn't mean it has to have someone left out. I left out the heat. When I was growing up sometimes someone would not like what we were having. So my Mom would cook something extra but different than what everyone was eating. So I had one daughter not liking potatoes, unless French fries, so I cooked her rice. My other daughter didn't like eggs so I cooked different for her. Well I made this a mild version.
