This is Cheap! Unpretentious Fried Meat Skewers with Fresh Ginger

Wrapping the fresh ginger with meat is a lot of work... so why not cut it into chunks instead?!
•You can use raw carrots or potatoes instead for kids.
•Try sticking onions and green peppers between the meat (BBQ style?)
•The fresh ginger is not spicy, so adding lots is good . For 8 sticks. Recipe by Nekoyanagi shouten

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Use 15cm round skewers. Cut the only longer portions of the pork roast, and strongly coat in salt and pepper. Cut the fresh ginger into large bite-sized pieces.
- 2
Prepare a deep glass. Add water to the tempura flour, and mix well without letting it clump up. This will run out rich and thick. Prepare the panko.
- 3
Skewer a piece of ginger to 3 cm before the end of the stick, and use as a stopper for the meat. Roll up the meat, and stick with the skewer. Tuck the smaller bits inside.
- 4
Fill the skewer up until there is 1 cm remaining, and secure the ends with pieces of fresh ginger. If you have leftover ginger, then you can make a skewer with just the ginger .
- 5
Tilt the glass sideways, coat just the ingredients in the batter, and coat in panko.
- 6
Add 2~3cm of oil to the bottom of a pot, heat it to 355F/180C, and fry until golden brown. It's done . You can fry about 3 skewers in an 18 cm pot.
- 7
Enjoy with Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce.

Showa-Style Homemade Fried Meat Skewers Showa-Style Homemade Fried Meat Skewers
This is one of the main dishes that we eat in our house. I used to use diced pork intended for stews but at some point I switched to soft-textured, light-flavoured pork fillets. Serve with tonkatsu sauce and mustard. If you over-boil potatoes, they'll just crumble when you try to skewer them so make sure to transfer them to a colander precisely 1-2 minutes after boiling. If you cook the potatoes raw, it will take too long for the heat to penetrate to the center of the potato when frying and you'll end up with burnt meat and onions. The flavor for pan-fried pork with ginger is different for each family. I wanted to post our unsweetened variation here as a record.-The bean sprouts will turn out crispy if you drain them well.-Enjoy the nice aroma of ginger with every bite you take. Fresh ginger has a better aroma, and it comes in handy if you wash and keep it stocked in the fridge. I recommend you set it aside for 2 to 3 minutes and bring it to room temperature before grating.
