Ham Steak with Orange Butter

cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp
Thick ham steaks were cheap, and when I saw them I got the urge to eat them! They were 40% off, plus I had orange juice in my fridge....
Add sliced orange at Step 2 if you like. If you don't have maple syrup, you can use honey. For 2 slices. Recipe by Tsuiterusatochan
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Fry both sides of the ham steaks in olive oil and garlic. Sprinkle on black pepper and plate. Cook the ham to your desired degree of doneness.
- 2

Filet Steak with Garlic and Thyme Butter
This is a very common way to cook steak. Seasoned only with salt and pepper then finished by basting with garlic and thyme butter for a perfect flavor that doesn’t drown out the taste of the steak. I aim for medium rare (135F internal temperature. Adjust cooking times to your desired rareness and use meat thermometer if you are unsure.

Flat iron steak with caper and tarragon brown butter
My local supermarket gifted me with a special treat this afternoon: flat iron steak. It's one of the very few times I've seen them offer this particular cut, so of course I didn't hesitate to scoop up a package to make for dinner. If you've never had flat iron steak before, do yourself a favour and find a restaurant that offers it. It's super-tender, super-flavourful...just absolutely fantastic. Because it's so great already, I chose a pretty simple preparation. Just a quick sear in a hot pan, followed by a jazzed-up brown butter sauce made in the same pan. Some premade, locally made pasta (lemon and ricotta filled mezzaluna from Duso's) completed the dish. Delicious.

Hearty Pork Steak
My hubby saw "Yokka-city Tonteki" (pork steak from Mie prefecture) on TV and said he wanted to try it, so I made my own version.I think thick cut pork is juicier and tastier, so I used a bock sliced about 3 cm thick. There's a lot of sauce and it's pretty rich, so use it for the cabbage and rice too. For 2 servings. Recipe by Meruchanlove

Chicken Steak with Avocado Sauce
I just came up with this recipe.I love avocado, so I put it on chicken steak.Coat the chicken with katakuriko to contain the umami flavour of the chicken.I cut the chicken after cooking, but you can cut it before you cook if you like.A generous amount of the sauce makes the dish more delicious, so the amount of the sauce is relatively large. Beef Steak with Onion Sauce
This is an abbreviated version of Chaliapin steak (a steak marinated in onions, a Japanese western-style dish). The sautéed onions form the base of the sauce, so sauté them slowly and patiently, taking care not to let them burn.As long as the onions are well sautéed, you can make a delicious sauce with just water, without needing any wine or sake. For 1 serving. Recipe by Shizure

Air Fryer Garlic Butter Steak Bites
Never occurred to me to cook a steak in the air fryer until I saw some videos online. So sister Dee-Dee and I came up with our own version, and it's a keeper! The steak was perfectly done to medium, juicy and flavorful. A simple salad or fresh fruit and you've got a yummy meal in no time at all.

Pork loin steaks with mustard and butter sauce
Tonight's dinner was quick and easy, and came out well enough that I thought it was worth sharing. As usual, quantities and cooking times are after-the-fact estimates. Also, please be sure to cook your pork thoroughly and please taste the sauce throughout so you can adjust to your preferences. If anyone is interested, I served this with a small side of tomato with balsamic and fresh parsley (pictured above) and roast cauliflower (not in the picture).

Beef Steak with Mustard Sauce Salad
Make this when steaks are on sale.Discard the oil you cooked the steak in before making the sauce at Step 5.When resting the steak, make sure it doesn't cool down. How to check the doneness of the meat: When you press down on it with a finger, if it feels about as soft as your cheek it's rare, if it's like your ear lobe it's medium, and if it's like your nose it's well done. For 1 serving. Recipe by Shizure

Pork Hamburg Steak with Baked Cauliflower
This is a Japanese-style hamburger recipe. It suggests mixing fresh milk with ground pork. The best milk is pasteurized milk, which doesn't last long. The smallest bottle available is 200 ml, and I always have some left over. Instead of mixing it with Kahlua to drink, I use it to bake cauliflower to cut the richness. As for why you should press the center of the hamburg steak to make a dent, I asked a Japanese friend and got this answer: "If you don't press it, the center will puff up when frying, and the edges won't touch the pan, causing uneven cooking." I also asked a Thai friend: "Pressing it makes it look more refined, like a noble style."- Got it -

I saw a steak salad in some publication, and thought it looked delicious. Stewed Hamburger Steak
My child doesn't eat so much so I wanted to make a meat dish that my child would love! You can make it with the things you already have at home and kids and also adults like it. It is even a big hit when you serve it to guests! It looks like there are many things to do but I just wrote it down in detail, so the process itself is easy! My homemade hamburger is with bread crumbs, stir fried onions and with lots of milk so it becomes soft. But there are also things to make the hamburger to stick so don't worry. Taste it and add water if it is too strong. Recipe by Toiroiro

Japanese Hamburg Steak + Demi-Glace Sauce with Rice
Last week, I attended a trial cooking class at ABC Cooking Studio. They offered three menu options, two of which were baked goods, but since I don't have an oven in my condo, I opted for the Hamburg steak class. It turned out great, so I decided to make it at home and share the recipe with you all.The ingredients listed here are for one serving... In the picture, I made enough for four servings, so it looks like a lot.
