Ingredients

Serves 2 servings
  1. 2 pieces(about 10 1/2 oz) thick-cut pork loin or thinly sliced
  2. Salt and pepper, to taste (for seasoning)
  3. Onion Sauce
  4. 1/2onion
  5. 1 clovegarlic
  6. 3 tablespoonssoy sauce
  7. 1 tablespoonsugar
  8. 2 tablespoonsvinegar
  9. 2 tablespoonsmirin
  10. 1 tablespoonsake
  11. 1/2 cupwater (100 ml)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Finely chop the onion and garlic. We use a chopper for mincing.

  2. 2

Lightly season the pork with salt and pepper, and cook over low to medium heat until browned on the surface.

  3. 3

Transfer the cooked pork to a plate, and lightly wipe the oil from the pan with a paper towel. Add the onion sauce ingredients.

  4. 4

Simmer the onion sauce over low heat until the onion becomes translucent, then reduce to your desired thickness.

  5. 5

If any juices have collected on the plate with the pork, add them to the onion sauce and simmer together. It's full of flavor!

  6. 6

Pour the onion sauce over the pork, or return the pork to the pan and coat it with the sauce. This part is up to you!

  7. 7

A friend used this recipe for roast beef sauce! An unexpected use! I had to try it myself!
