Ingredients

  1. 1.5 poundsmeatloaf mix
  2. 1/2medium onion, diced
  3. 1 Tspbutter
  4. 2eggs
  5. 3/4 cupmilk
  6. 3/4 cupseasoned breadcrumbs, I used homemade
  7. 1 Tbschili sauce
  8. 1 tspItalian seasoning
  9. 2 tspparsley
  10. 1 tspsea salt
  11. 1 tspblack pepper
  12. Topping
  13. 1/2 cupchili sauce
  14. 1/2 cupketchup
  15. 1-2 tspbrown sugar
  16. 1/2 tsphorseradish

Cooking Instructions

    In a pan, melt butter over medium heat. Cook onions with 1/2 of the salt & pepper until translucent. Turn off heat & let cool. Spray a loaf pan with baking spray & pre-heat oven to 350.

    In a medium bowl, combine eggs, milk, and breadcrumbs. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes.

    Add the meat, cooked onions, chili sauce, Italian seasoning, parsley, and salt & pepper to the bowl. Mix until just combined. Form into your loaf pan. Cook in oven for 45 minutes.

    While the meatloaf is cooking, combine topping mixture. Spread mixture over the meatloaf and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until cooked through and the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F. Broil for 1-2 minutes if desired.

    See how yours looks, you might want to broil for an additional 2-3 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
